What is Hosteleer?

Hosteleer is an online platform that connects hostel hosts and backpacker volunteers. Hosts offer perks in exchange for duties. Perks can include things like free accommodation, free food, free drinks, free bicycle use, etc. Duties can include things like leading pub crawls, organizing movie nights, changing linens, or bartending. Your overall goal as a volunteer is to help create an amazing, social atmosphere at the hostel and to help the hostel get more positive reviews!
02

Who is Hosteleer for?

Hosteleer is for backpackers who want to travel long and slow. It is for adventurers who want to get to know dream locations deeply. It is for those who want to make lifelong friends with locals and other travelers from across the world.
03

Is Hostel-Volunteering safe?

The sharing economy works on trust. Just like AirBnb or Uber, we rely on reviews and ratings to ensure safe and nurturing hostel-volunteering experience. With that said, use your own judgement and common sense to determine if a hostel-volunteering experience is right for you. If a host or volunteer feels uncomfortable or unsafe in anyway, they can cancel the experience at any time. If the matter is serious, we will investigate the situation and take action if we deem it appropriate. Please remember, Hosteleer is solely a platform for hosts and volunteers to contact each other and to offer or receive help. Any and all arrangements and agreements made are solely between the host and volunteer and do not include the Hosteleer platform.

Do I need a visa?

Each country has different rules and regulations in regards to volunteering, and it is your sole responsibility to obtain all necessary documents and visas for the countries you are traveling to. Our platform is based on cultural exchanges and not paid work. It is important to be clear about this distinction to avoid problems with immigration.
